Old Western Saloon (UE5)

A saloon model I've been working on and off for the last few months. The ultimate goal of this project was to learn how to build a small scene using modular assets that were then assembled in Unreal Engine 5. I also spent a lot of time learning tools such as RGB masks, vertex blending, and decals to give the model a more weathered, realistic look.

I built a basic trim sheet in Substance Painter for the red-painted boards along with damage variations which were later added via vertex blending. The tileable wood texture and canopy roof tile texture were sourced from ambientCG. For the windows, I used Unreal Engine’s standard glass material combined with a dirt mask for added realism. A texel density of 1024 px/m was chosen for this project to achieve the best visual results.

The final model consists of 58 unique modular assets created in Blender. Additional props like the wagon wheel and barrel were created using the high-poly bake workflow. High-poly sculpts were created in Blender, which were then baked in Marmoset and textured in Substance Painter.
